Makerspaces

In 2014 I found out what a Makerspace was when I attended an event called Startup Weekend. The basic idea behind the event was you pitch an idea or join a team and work on a business plan over the 72 hours. I pitched an online website for ordering and delivering groceries, I actually had someone come up to me and say no one would pay for that. I got 0 votes for my idea too! Now I sometimes PAY for grocery delivery! LOL. The world is funny! Anyways.... At this event I met the head of a GRMakers (now defunct) and it set me on my path.

In 2017 I took at job at Muskegon Community College to get the Lakeshore Fab Lab up and running and that was my job until 2023 when I felt my calling change. I started my own business out of my home in Grand Rapids, MI.

In 2023 I also joined the group of people trying to get a makerspace BACK in Grand Rapids after 2 closed up shop. I figured I can add my experience and passion for these types of places to the team.
